It feels so strange getting the chance to work on my own passion project for once, rather than helping someone else’s come to life. In both honoring my parents' legacies and fulfilling a lifelong passion, my husband and I are in the process of starting a mid-size oyster farm out of their waterfront property. We love the bay, as did my father in particular, and we see no better way to give back than to throw ourselves into the oyster industry. One single oyster can filter 50 gallons of water a day. Between the species' positive environmental impact and honoring my father, it's a no-brainer. Wish us luck.
